TAMPA, FL — Residents of a Florida neighborhood were in for a wild surprise on Wednesday when a bear was spotted lounging on a local patio. Several homes were promptly evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Homeowner, Marianne Riley, discovered the unexpected guest while she was preparing her morning coffee. “I looked out and there it was, just relaxing on my patio furniture. I’ve heard about Florida’s wildlife but never expected to see a bear in my backyard!” she exclaimed.
Immediately after noticing the bear, Marianne called the local authorities, who arrived swiftly to manage the situation. The local police department, alongside the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), cordoned off the area, advising residents to remain inside their homes and away from windows.
