Biden welcomes release of two US captives from Gaza
Hamas’s military wing’s spokesperson announced the release of two American captives on humanitarian grounds. US President Joe Biden expressed immense joy at the Americans’ release, extending gratitude to Qatar and Israel for their collaborative efforts in ensuring their safe return from Gaza. The Palestine Red Crescent reported that Israel has called for the evacuation of al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City, currently serving as refuge for thousands. Worldwide, notably in Muslim-majority nations, thousands have rallied in support of the Palestinians in Gaza, urging an end to Israel’s stringent blockade and aerial bombardments. Gaza inhabitants faced another night of intense aerial attacks, coupled with doubts about incoming aid from Egypt. Since Hamas’s attack in Israel on October 7, which resulted in over 1,400 casualties, Israeli assaults on Gaza have claimed the lives of at least 4,137 Palestinians.
