Boulder, CO – June 1, 2025
What began as a peaceful walk in support of Israeli hostages quickly spiraled into a nightmare in downtown Boulder. At least seven people were injured, some severely burned, after a man reportedly launched a firebomb-style attack on participants at the Pearl Street Mall.
The event, hosted by Run For Their Lives, aimed to raise awareness for the over 100 hostages still held in Gaza. But the afternoon turned violent when a shirtless man allegedly shouted anti-Israel slogans before igniting and throwing incendiary devices into the crowd. Witnesses screamed as flames erupted. At least two victims were airlifted to a trauma center in Aurora with critical injuries.
The suspect, identified by multiple reports as Mohammed Soliman, was quickly subdued and taken into custody by Boulder Police. According to the FBI, this is now being investigated as a “targeted terror attack” motivated by ideology. Eyewitnesses said the attacker was yelling “Free Palestine” and “End Zionists” before the explosion rocked the plaza.
Meeko TV has confirmed that federal investigators, local law enforcement, and bomb squads are still active at the scene, and several blocks of downtown Boulder remain shut down. A suspicious vehicle believed to be connected to the suspect is also under review.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis released a statement condemning the violence, calling it “an attack on peace, not just people,” and vowed state support for the victims and community. FBI Director Kash Patel said this act represents the type of domestic extremism law enforcement is increasingly facing.
The Jewish community in Boulder released a statement through local synagogues, offering prayers and support:
“Today’s violence is a tragedy. We stand in unity, and we won’t be intimidated by hate.”
The group Run For Their Lives has since canceled all upcoming events. Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn has asked the public to remain calm and avoid speculation as the investigation develops.
